Wooden Unicorn w/ Stand Birthday Kit
I recently hosted a birthday party for a sweet little 6 year old and the requested theme was “Unicorns”! K and her friends love to paint, so I designed a unicorn that could be painted and then put upright in a stand.
They were a huge hit! The party was probably the quietest birthday party I have ever attended, as they were all so focused on painting all of the details of the magical unicorn.
Here is the one that I painted as an example before the party…but please no judging, painting is probably not one of my strong points!
The unicorn is cut out of 1/8” baltic birch from Woodpeckers on Amazon. I love that I can order this and have it right to my doorstep within a day or two! This particular box comes with 20 sheets of 12” x 24” pieces, and they are 1/8” thick.
This wood is inexpensive (about $3.30 per sheet) and cuts very nicely for projects like this. I also use it for prototypes when I’m working on a new design.
The kids really took their time on these - I was amazed at their patience at such a small age!
Since there was a little boy who was attending the party as well, there was a request for another craft that was non-unicorn related, so I designed a t-rex for him. You can read about this file here.
