We grow lavender year-round at our house and it makes it through many of the winters. If not, we just plant more the next spring. I recently dried some to use in this bath tea recipe from Martha Stewart and they turned out perfectly! To dry your own lavender, cut stems when the flower buds are bright purple. Create bundles and hang them upside down for about a week.
What you will need:
1 cup whole dried oats or colloidal oatmeal (colloidal oatmeal is blended oats and can be found at most drugstores.)
1 cup dried lavender buds and leaves
1/2 cup fine Dead Sea salt
10 drops lavender essential oil
Muslin pouches or empty tea sachets
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and spoon into tea sachets.
Add 1 bag to a warm bath and enjoy!
