Lavender Mint DIY Collection (Digital Download)
For some, the winter months can be dark and gloomy. Self-care might take a back seat or require a little more effort than the warmer days when we can soak up vitamin D and watch the sun set. These Lavender-Mint DIYs are soothing and calming due to the lavender scents, but also provide little minty bursts of peppermint to re-energize your mood. I always suggest to do DIYs like this with friends - creating together is always a mood booster!
Lavender-Mint Collection - Soothing and Refreshing
Lavender-Mint Body Butter
Ingredients:
4 cups Coconut Oil
1 TBSP Vitamin E Oil
20 drops Lavender Essential Oil
20 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
DIRECTIONS:
Put all ingredients into mixing bowl and mix with whisking attachment (or use a hand mixer) for at least 5 minutes. Spoon into airtight containers and label for gifting - they are perfect for teacher and staff gifts, family and friends and stocking stuffers. *If the temperature of your kitchen is on the warmer side, you might want to chill your mixing bowl before combining. The texture might be runnier, but the body butter will still set up in your jars.
This recipe fills 15 4 oz Ball Jars
*Feel free to adjust the amount or scent of essential oils to meet your needs.

Lavender-Mint Salt Scrub
This natural salt scrub base can be used with many different fats and/or essential oils. Remember that different salts have different textures and consistencies - so keep that in mind when choosing your ingredients. (Epsom salts are larger granules than kosher or table salts, etc.) We used Epsom salts that seemed large and rough at first, but after setting in the almond oil for a few days, they were less abrasive and very soothing.
Ingredients:
Air tight containers for storage
3 cups Salt - Epsom, Himilayian, or Kosher are some options
1/3 cups Sweet Almond Oil
Essential Oils (we used 20 drops of Lavender and 15 drops of Peppermint)
Directions:
Combine salts and sweet almond oil in large bowl until the salt has a wet consistency. Mix in essential oils and spoon into air tight jars. The salts will be less abrasive after sitting for a day.
*** this was a bulk recipe since we had a larger group and filled 8 4oz Ball jars.
