I live in a swamp. Seriously. And when the spring time hits, the ball fields can be a difficult place to spend your evenings. Especially if you're like me and seem to attract every type of bug in the universe!
This spring, I decided to make my own bug spray out of natural ingredients because I alway feel the need to shower after using the kind of sprays with chemicals in them. (And who wants those in your bed, either...)
I knew that this would smell great since it contains essential oils, but...would it really work?
Here is how I made it:
Ingredients:
8 ounce glass spray bottle
1/4 cup witch hazel
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
10 drops tea tree essential oil
10 drops lemon grass essential oil
10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
10 drops peppermint essential oil
Combine all ingredients in your glass bottle and shake before each use. (Making sure to avoid eyes and mouth when spraying!)
I used this all spring and summer at the ball fields, and even in the garden. It smells wonderful, so I actually enjoy wearing it - and the best part, is that I do see results when wearing it.
What other combinations of oils have worked for you?
